WEEK 12
Everything is done. There is nothing more to be done apart from final demonstration. The only thing that is left to do is the report . A video demonstration has also been done that will be used on the third stage of the demonstration.
WEEK ELEVEN
The week concerned nothing much has been done due to work and stuff. My colleague and I have also been very busy doing engines assignments. In any case, we are not behind with anything except for the report itself that needs to be put together accordingly. With all components assembled, there is nothing left but to demonstrate to our supervisor.
WEEK TEN
The prototype was built and tested. Progress is looking good and the programming still needs to be fine tuned. I have also informed my colleague of the specific areas that need researching to determine certain aspects that needs to be talked about in the final report. Particularly the temperatures and the reasons why we decided not to use thermo-couples and coolant temperature sensors.
WEEK NINE
All parts that have been purchased I positioned accordingly and took photographs and quickly put together a draft presentation. I then emailed this to my colleague. I have also started looking at the programmimng of the CHIP.
WEEK EIGHT
That week was I think the progress report week. Unfortunately we expected different and therefore asked Roman if we were able to present the following week. This is because we were ill-prepared and we have yet to take any photographs for our prototype.
WEEK SEVEN
The prototype has been built and I've yet to test to see if it works. We finally decided that we will use a temperature sensor instead of coolant temperature. This is because coolant sensors are different for every manufacturer and therm-couples have too big ranges to work with.
WEEK SIX
That week was just another usual day of reporting to our supervisors. Our supervisor Prabhat made very useful suggestions as to how we should sense the engine temperature. We told him about the steam sensor suggestion of which he advised us not to pursue due to the complexity. For me it was a good advice because it would mean that I would have to conduct so much research.
Prabaht however pointed us out in the right direction and approach of which we will base our project and continue to develop our literature review and possible scenarios.
This week I also went and purchased all the parts for the project. We have not yet assembled.
WEEK FIVE
Our project at that week so far is going great. Though we have yet to build our model, the research aspects of our project is making good progress in terms of the required literature. My colleague and I are trying our best to find alternative means to make it work and other methods of sensing the engine temperature that can be more effective and reliable.
WEEK FOUR
That week at the was just like every other morning. I was late as usual I still manged to get to class to ensure that I was not completely lost with what is happening. Despite so, I am more then confident that my colleague and I are on track as planned with our assignments.
After leaving class, my colleague and I had a short meeting in terms of the best day to go see PRAHAT
WEEK THREE
That morning was nothing new apart from Roman wanting a confirmation of our project ideas. I was late as usual and missed out on the solid-works tutorials by Gerry. Once done I headed back to class with the hope of some clarity on the literature review from Roman. After I spoke to him regarding the difficulty of finding information on our project, my colleague and now I feel more confident to write our literature review.
Later at eleven thirty was a workshop for the use of end-note. I must admit its a fantastic opportunity to learn such a useful tool that makes referencing so much easier and less cumbersome.
WEEK TWO
That week is nothing much but a continuation of where things were left of last week. Meeting up with our chosen supervisors and hoping to finalise our chosen project and ideas is very much the agenda for me and my work partner at the above date. At first I had the intention of working on something that was related to suspension and steering. However, my partner and I decided on doing a project that is electronic based. Despite my shortfalls in electronics practically, I will do my best to learn as much as possible during the process and contribute as much as I could in all aspects concerned.
WEEK ONE
First week back was nothing unsual apart from Roman giving us an overview of what is expected of us regarding our technology projects. I must admit its extremely hard trying to refocus and concentrate after being on holiday for two weeks and trying to settle back into study mode is not always fun nor easy.
We have not decided yet on what the project is going to be.
